Strongman

Strongman RCFNI

Reduced to its essential parts, Strongman is a sport in which the principle task is to pick up random heavy objects and move them. Essentially, you move objects of near-maximal weight and are scored by time, reps, or maximum weight lifted. That's really it. Trust us though, it's fun! Strongman obviously involves strength, but also requires athleticism, skill, mental toughness and doesn't have a minimum level of strength and fitness required. There's nothing else like it.

Some tools you will be working with are the atlas stone, tire flipping, the log, the yoke, farmers walk and sandbags.

The Strongman course runs for 8 weeks and is an additional cost. It will give you the fundamental skills to enter the world of Strongman.


Barbell Club

Olympic Weightlifting consists of two types of lifts: the snatch, and the clean and jerk. Both are overhead lifts and involve a full body range of motion. The goal is to lift maximum weight at a rapid speed using a barbell.

Our coach Stephen Forbes is a winner of a number of local weightlifting competitions. In Barbell Club Stephen teaches the fundamentals of the Olympic lifts and caters to beginners right through to advanced levels. Barbell club has proven to help members become more proficient with the Olympic lifts to assist with their CrossFit workouts and strength work. As well as an excellent platform for those looking to become competitive weightlifters, with many going on to represent the RCFNI Weightlifting Team in local competitions and winning medals. Barbell Club is included in your monthly membership.
