Programming and Coaching

At RCFNI you don’t have to think about what you are doing in the gym each day- we do that for you. Coaches will guide you through our programs safely, advising what scales are most appropriate for your ability. Our aim is help you feel healthier and happier.

Programs

Members have free access to CrossFit, Weightlifting and Gymnastics classes.


For an additional cost, we also run an 8 week Strongman course frequently.

 

Coaches

Our team of coaches bring a broad range of knowledge and experience. In every class you'll always find one of our coaches on hand to help you scale movements to suit your ability, ensuring you get the correct stimulus from every workout.
Our coaches will help you to challenge yourself, whilst ensuring your safety.

 

Andy Gausden- Head Coach/Affiliate Owner

Andy Gausden RCFNI

Andy is the Head Coach and affiliate owner of RCFNI and has been working in the fitness industry for over 15 years. Previously Andy was a fitness manager and personal trainer until he discovered CrossFit in 2010 (sitting his CF Level 1 in the same year). In 2011, Andy was part of the team that opened the first Northern Irish affiliate which was known as ‘The Unit’ until it was renamed as Reebok CrossFit Northern Ireland in 2012.

Andy is extremely well qualified in the fitness and CrossFit industry. His qualifications include:

Diploma in Sport Science, NASM PT, CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Level 2, CrossFit Weightlifting, CrossFit Football, CrossFit Gymnastics, CrossFit Strongman and CrossFit Kettlebells

Michael Holland

Michael first found CrossFit in 2009 after seeing a workout on-line. He has a multi-sport background including GAA, soccer, triathlon and surfing. Michael has been a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach for 7 years. He competed in the first two Titanic Games and continues to compete at Master's level in CrossFit . His

Qualifications include: CrossFit Level1, CrossFit Level2, CrossFit Football, British Weightlifting Club Coach, UKSCA Level 1, Level 3 Personal Trainer, First Aid qualified.

 

Jamie Clements

Jamie Clements RCFNI

Jamie joined RCFNI in 2015 as a competitive athlete and was invited onto the coaching staff later that year. He graduated medical school in 2016 and works as a doctor in Craigavon.

Each of Jamie's high-energy classes are seasoned with flavours of his specialist interests: functional anatomy and sports physiology.

 

Aishling Petticrew

Aishling Petticrew RCFNI

Aishling has competed in a number of individual and team competitions and continues to be better every day and desires to help coach the members to the best they can be/. Qualifications include level 1 CrossFit, level 2/3 in personal training

 

Damian Regan

Damian Regan RCFNI

“Rego” has been a member-turned-coach within the RCFNI community for 5+ years, from back in the “Unit” days, to today’s RCFNI.

With over 10 years’ experience in the fitness industry, Damian has a solid fundamental knowledge in how to make clients ‘Better at life’

Having found CrossFit early 2012, he has competed regularly, both individually and representing RCFNI in team competition. Most recently he has been seen competing all over Ireland in Masters competitions.

Qualifications are CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Level 2, CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Olympic Lifting and CrossFit Kettlebells. European Institute of Fitness, REP’s Level 3 Personal Trainer. Corrective Exercise Specialist

 

Stephen Forbes

Stephen started Crossfit in early 2013, before completing his Crossfit level 1 and starting to coach shortly after. Over the next few years he continued to coach while competing in CF competitions across Ireland and the U.K. In 2016 Stephen switched his focus to concentrate solely on Olympic Weightlifting, representing RCFNI in weightlifting meets across the country. Stephen coaches our Thursday night Barbell Club. His qualifications include Crossfit Level 1, Crossfit Level 2, Crossfit Football and British Weightlifting Level 1.


Johnny Pedlow

Johnny Pedlow RCFNI

Johnny started CrossFit in 2012- Open 12.1 was his first ever WOD.... 7 minutes of burpees and somehow he came back for more. Johnny has been working as a personal trainer for over 6 years and is currently S&C coach for the NI Women's football team and Belfast Met Rugby Academy. His qualifications include - BSc Health & Leisure Studies, CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, NASM PT, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Performance Specialist and Level 3 Nutrition.

 

Gareth Moore

Gareth Moore RCFNI

Gareth has been involved in many sports from a young age. His main focus was swimming which I did competitively for many years. Started CrossFit near the end of 2013 and became hooked. To enhance my knowledge, I gained my CrossFit level 1 in December 2014. Moved to RCFNI in September 2015 and have loved being part of the great community at the gym and representing the gym at many competitions. Started coaching at RCFNI summer 2017 where I coach 1 evening and 1 morning a week. It is very enjoyable coaching in the gym and I look forward to continuing to help everyone meet their fitness goals.

 

Marcin Mroczkowski

Marcin RCFNI

Marcin’s back ground is in track and field as well as team sports. Previously to starting CrossFit he coached Division 1 basketball team in NI. In search for greater strength and conditioning knowledge he then decided to try CrossFit, which completely changed his approach to how he saw fitness. Qualifications include CrossFit Strongman speciality course.

 

Stuart Thompson

Stuart Thompson RCFNI

Stuart started CrossFit in 2013 to supplement rugby training. He has a background in rugby and golf, which he represented Ireland at underage levels on several occasions. Completed the CrossFit level on in 2015 and started coaching at CrossFit Coleraine shortly after. Completed Irish weightlifting level one in 2016 and also started to coach at CrossFit Limavady before moving to Belfast. He competed in CrossFit competitions as both an individual and in a team.
