CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more.

Every class is led by a qualified coach who will explain how to safely perform the movements. Depending on your ability, the coach will then help you to choose appropriate scaling options. This is how we cater for the broad range of abilities that train at RCFNI.

Normal CrossFit classes run throughout the week and on Saturdays we do a Team WOD at 10am.

Reduced to its essential parts, Strongman is a sport in which the principle task is to pick up random heavy objects and move them. Essentially, you move objects of near-maximal weight and are scored by time, reps, or maximum weight lifted. That's really it. Trust us though, it's fun! Strongman obviously involves strength, but also requires athleticism, skill, mental toughness and doesn't have a minimum level of strength and fitness required. There's nothing else like it.

Some tools you will be working with are the atlas stone, tire flipping, the log, the yoke, farmers walk and sandbags.

The Strongman course runs for 8 weeks and is an additional cost of £80. It will give you the fundamental skills to enter the world of Strongman.

No previous experience in CrossFit or Strongman training required. Open to non RCFNI members also.
